This evaluation is relevant for humanitarian and development practitioners involved in diverse SOGIESC inclusion, and for those involved in organisational capacity building around diverse SOGIESC inclusion; this evaluation provides a comprehensive overview of the enabling factors and challenges in promoting inclusion in Plan International's work. Importantly, this evaluation should be read by all organisations interested in implementing inclusion work.

This end of project evaluation conducted by Dr Claire House and Emily Dwyer (both Edge Effect) and commissioned by Plan International. The evaluation took place between October-December 2019, and addressed the following questions:

  1. To what extent were the objectives
    achieved?
  2. What were the major factors that influenced
    the achievement/non-achievement of these
    objectives?
  3. How can Plan International build on
    the lessons learned from this project to
    strengthen how LGBTIQ+ adolescents are
    supported in programming

The evaluation identifies key enabling factors and well as challenges, and makes recommendations for scaling-up and consolidating this inclusion work.
